We are proud to announce that Kingfisher Industrial has been shortlisted for the Materials Handling Engineers’ Association (MHEA) Awards 2025, in the Innovation category.
The nomination recognises our latest engineering development, the Smart IoT AbrAlarm Wear Detection System, which builds on our legacy of pioneering preventive maintenance technologies. Originally introduced to the UK market in 1997, our AbrAlarm system was the first of its kind, helping operators across bulk extraction, processing, manufacturing and utilities to reduce environmental hazards, improve safety, and cut costly downtime.
Our latest innovation takes this even further. By incorporating wireless communication technology specifically designed for harsh industrial environments, the new system delivers dependable, cost-effective wear monitoring, enabling operators to transition from emergency repairs to planned, predictive maintenance. With a five-year battery life, robust IP65 protection, and the capacity to monitor up to 100 sensors at once, it represents a significant step forward for safety, environmental protection, and operational efficiency.
Kevin Price, Managing Director of Kingfisher Industrial, said:
“Being shortlisted for the MHEA Innovation Award is fantastic recognition of our team’s hard work and determination to solve real challenges for our customers. The Smart IoT AbrAlarm System represents the next evolution of wear detection technology, providing a cost-effective and reliable solution that not only enhances plant performance but also safeguards people and the environment. We are delighted to see this innovation recognised on such a prestigious platform.”
The winners will be announced at the MHEA Awards Ceremony, which will take place during BULKEX 2025 on October 14 at Chesford Grange. The event will bring together industry leaders to celebrate excellence across the materials handling sector.
