UK Sales Manager

Overview of Job Role:
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the management of existing business accounts, developing new business accounts and the necessary customer services associated with sales order processing activities.

Job description:

  • Working within the sales team you will have responsibility for the planning, managing and interaction with both existing and new customer accounts within the marketplace.
  • Undertake the necessary research and market intelligence to ensure opportunities are generated, promoted and converted.
  • Liaison with the company’s marketing activities to ensure the efforts are maximized within the marketplace.
  • Assist in the production of technical quotations associated with supply only proposals to offering a full technically compliant bid encompassing all disciplines associated with a turnkey contract.
  • Visiting customers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as per your personally developed call register to assess customer requirements and possible short, medium and long-term opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the technical capability and advantages of the solutions and service offered to potential customers.
  • Promote both up and cross selling benefits and functions to all customer accounts.
  • Daily interaction with the companies CRM and ERP systems ensuring compliance with reporting and procedures.
  • Liaison with the operations team and customers in processing active sales orders.
  • Assist with after sales and service queries, investigate customers CAR’s and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers satisfaction.
  • Develop the UK sales territory with a view to introducing an area sales/service engineers when the activity justifies the future investment.
  • Any other duties within reason and capability associated with the sales and operational efforts of the business as and when requested to carry out additional tasks by your line manager and company directors.

Person profile:

  • Midlands based.
  • The ability to be technically and commercially compliant within a heavy industrial environment.
  • A sound proven record of servicing the heavy industrial sector of industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to maintain existing and build new relationships.
  • The ability to initiate customer contact and generate technical enquiries with a commitment to follow through to execution.

The role would suit someone who has the following characteristics

Hours of work:
A minimum of 35 hours per week will be worked Monday to Friday. Albeit, due to the operational requirements of our customer base then as and when the need arises to work in excess of these hours or days in order to carry out the tasks associated with your job description, then we expect you undertake the necessary commitment.

 

On-Site Lead/Engineer

Overview of Job Role:

We are seeking a practical and experienced site-oriented team leader to oversee on-site operations and manage small project teams. The On-site Lead will work hands-on with mechanical installations, wear-resistant lining systems (including rubber, ceramic, and steel), and fabrication tasks, while supervising crew activities and ensuring that work is delivered safely, to specification, and on schedule.

This is a frontline leadership role for someone who thrives in site environments and can confidently direct a team while utilising tools as needed. They will also assist in the workshop between site projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and participate in mechanical site work, including lining installation, mechanical fitting and fabrication.
  • Lead a team of site operatives, allocating tasks and ensuring quality, safety and budget compliance.
  • Communicate site targets, job priorities and customer expectations to the team via daily team briefs.
  • Carry out checks on tools, PPE and equipment—ensuring readiness and compliance
  • Maintain safe working practices and report site incidents or near misses
  • Work closely with Production Manager/Project Manager to ensure efficient deployment of resources
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming work or materials
  • Support ongoing training and development of your team
  • Promote and represent Kingfisher’s values and customer service standards while on site.

What You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Site leadership & working experience in industrial/mechanical settings
  • Proven background in one or more: wear-resistant linings, mechanical fitting, or steel fabrication
  • Experience in shutdowns, maintenance, or large site projects
  • Safety passport (ECITB or equivalent)
  • First Aid trained
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and site best practices
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Clear communication and the ability to lead by example
  • Initiative, adaptability, and good problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Slinger signaller, Lift Supervisor, welder, MEWP, telehandler certs, Confined space experience
  • Supervisory or team lead experience in off-site manufacturing or on-site industrial services.

Career Progression:

This role has a clear development path if desired. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to progress to Project Engineer, with increasing responsibility for planning, coordination, and delivery of full-site scopes.
