Kingfisher gains EN ISO 3834-2

Kingfisher successfully achieves the internationally recognised EN ISO 3834-2 certification.

Recognised by EWF (European Welding Federation) and IIW (International Institute of Welding) EN ISO 3834-2 offers a consistent standard which demonstrates Kingfisher’s ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standard of workmanship, product reliability and quality requirements for welding requirements, both in workshop and onsite.

Furthermore it outline’s the capabilities of a manufacturer producing welded construction in accordance with specified criteria, it can also be used as a basis for assessing a manufacturer’s welding quality arrangement, providing details of how to control the various welding and welding-related operations to achieve consistent quality and covers the fabrication, erection, welding and testing of new and refurbished equipment such as storage tanks, holders and associated components including ancillary pipework and welded structures.

John Connolly, Managing Director, stated: ‘Welding is an integral part of our fabrication process and by achieving this accreditation it demonstrates the importance we place on satisfying both regulatory and client needs. It complements our existing quality certifications and underlines our reputation for producing high quality fabrications’.

TUV’s assessor Steven Brown said: ‘We would like to congratulate Kingfisher for achieving the UKAS accredited ISO 3834-2 certification for a welding quality management system, the assessment showed they are more than capable of working to the stringent quality levels required on projects for the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. ISO 3834-2 demonstrates that Kingfisher run a comprehensive welding management system, which will comply with clause 7 of ISO 1090-2 ‘Welding shall be undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the relevant part of EN3834’ and assist the company in attaining ISO 1090-2, execution class 3 accreditation.
